Ali Zafar is an esteemed pop-rock singer-songwriter who debuted in 2003. He released his first single, “Channo,” which received wide critical acclaim and topped several music charts. The song was spawned from his highly successful debut album, Huqa Pani. The record sold over five million copies worldwide and won Best Album at the Lux Style Awards in 2004. Two years after his stellar debut, Ali Zafar dropped his sophomore album, Masty. The album’s lead single, “Dekha,” received plenty of attention in Pakistan due to its accompanying music video costing over ten million rupees. The single was later featured in the Hollywood film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Zafar received numerous accolades for his work with Masty, such as the Best Male Artist at the MTV Style Awards and the Youth Icon Award at the Luxe Style Awards.
In 2010, Zafar made his film debut and took the lead actor role in the Bollywood film Tere Bin Laden. The film was a commercial success in India, earning him several accolades, including nominations at the IIFA Awards, Zee Cine Awards, Screen Awards, and Filmfare Awards. Zafar recently released his latest single, “Maula,” which is rumored to be included in his upcoming studio album.
