Forestella is a vocal quartet comprising Bae Doo-hoon, Kang Hyung-ho, Cho Min-kyu, and Ko Woo-rim. These singers are all alums of the Phantom Singer, a reality singing competition aired by the Korean network JTCB. In 2017, the members were among 12 finalists who joined the competition. Doo-hoon, Hyung-Hi, Min Kyu, and Woo-Rim were grouped during the season, and they named themselves Forestella. Together, the quartet won the competition.
The following year, the group released its debut album, Evolution. The critically-acclaimed effort, which peaked at number 13 on the Korean chart, contains a wide range of genres and demonstrates the group’s phenomenal vocal prowess. Later in the year, Forestella joined another reality series, KBS’ Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend. In 2019, Forestella released their sophomore album, Mystique. The record spawned several hits, including “My Favorite Things” and “Hijo Dela Luna.” The album also contains a cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
In 2021, the group’s third album, The Forestella, was dropped. The album, which debuted at number 16 on the Korean charts, contains several covers, such as “My Heart Will Go On,” “We Are The Champions,” and “Thriller.” The following year, Forestella won the Crossover Group at the Brand of the Year Awards and the K Global Crossover Award at the K Global Heart Dream Awards.
