Kansas - The Band at Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Fusing British progressive rock and Midwest sound, Kansas is among the rock trailblazers of the 70s rock era. Known as one of the most influential bands in rock history, they have produced nine gold-certified albums, three platinum-certified albums, and a million-selling single, "Dust in the Wind." The band holds the record of maintaining chart standing for o200 weeks throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Kansas began forming in 1970 with members including Kerry Livgren (guitar), Dave Hope (bass), and Phil Ehart (drums). However, in 1972, they changed the band name to White Clover after violinist Robbie Steinhardt joined the band. Two years after, they reverted to Kansas. Their rise to stardom was slow, even with them rigorously touring during their early years. But through hard work in touring, their efforts paid off when their third album, "Masque" (1975), gained considerable traction. Foreshadowing success, their next album, entitled "Leftoverture," took them to rock fame. "Point of Know Return" (1977) and "Monolith" (1979) solidified their superstardom. "Carry On Wayward Son," "Dust in the Wind," "Lamplight Symphony," and "Journey From Mariabronn" are among the singles that truly made a mark on the listener and became their biggest hits. After these big releases, the band came out with ten more albums, with "The Absence of Presence" being the most recent.

For their 50th Anniversary -Another Fork in the Road Tour, the legendary band will be visiting multiple cities in North America. Catch them at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Wednesday, September 6. Tickets are selling out fast; buy yours now!
