Outlaw music takes precedence this fall as the legendary icons of the genre take over Canada for the Texas Trilogy Tour. Ray Wylie Hubbard has been an influential force in blues, folk, and country since the ‘70s, and in 2023, he continues to rock on stage as they did during their prime. His exemplary work with Ray Wylie Hubbard and the Cowboy Twinkies became his first entry into the country music world. Released via Warner Bros., the album put the singer-songwriter on the map. But it was his incredible efforts with Crusades of the Restless Knights, Delirium Tremolos, and Snake Farm that kept him at the top of the outlaw circuit. Forty-eight years after his debut, Hubbard continues to be a force in music and has released a total of 18 studio albums, including his latest effort, Co-Starring Too. In 2020, Hubbard signed with Big Machine Records to release a couple of efforts.

During the summer, Hubbard’s setlist is an action-packed lineup of career-spanning hits. He performed all the crowd favorites, such as “Snake Farm,” “Pretty Reckless,” “Wanna Rock and Roll,” “South of the River,” and more. Hubbard has been known to perform iconic covers, including Eric Church’s “Desperate Man,” “Hayes Carll’s “Drunken Poet’s Dream,” and James McMurty’s “Choctaw Bingo.” Since both Carll and McMurty are coming in as special guests in their Vancouver gig, fans may expect some surprise collaborations and whatnot. With these highly exhilarating performers, you’d never know what you can expect during show day!

Joining Hubbard on the Trilogy Tour, Grammy-nominated artist Carll is set to perform his career-spanning hits. The Woodlands, Texas-native rose to prominence in the late 2000s. He has released several outstanding albums, including 2008’s Trouble in Mind, 2011’s KMAG YOYO, 2016’s Lovers and Leavers, and 2019’s What It Is. In 2021, Carll dropped his latest album, You Get It All, via Dulatone Records. The album peaked at number 14 on Billboard’s Folk Albums chart.

Lastly, fans can definitely expect some noteworthy jams from James McMurty. The folk-rock performer has been making waves on the folk, rock, and country circuit with his recently dropped efforts, including Just Us Kids, Complicated Game, and his latest album, The Horses and the Hounds. Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, McMurty is definitely a Texas gem that completes this incredible line-up of performers for the Texas Trilogy Tour.

Hurry and score tickets now and catch Ray Wylie Hubbard, Hayes Carll, and James McMurtry at the Texas Trilogy Tour at Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Monday, 13th November 2023!
