Ali Wong at Queen Elizabeth Theatre

American actress, stand-up comedian, and writer Ali Wong began her comedy career upon leaving university aged 23, making her stand-up debut at Brainwash Cafe in her native San Francisco. Wong moved to New York City soon after to further pursue comedy, and spent the next few years performing New York's comedy circuit, sometimes performing up to nine times a night. After being named as one of "10 Comics to Watch" by Variety in 2011, she appeared on The Tonight Show, John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show and Dave Atell's Comedy Underground Show. A stint as a series regular on the NBC comedy series Are You There, Chelsea? Followed, as well as appearances on Chelsea Lately. A variety of acting and comedy appearances followed both on television and in film, including appearances in  VH1's Best Week Ever and MTV's Hey Girl in 2013, as well as in Oliver Stone's Savages, opposite Benicio Del Toro and Salma Hayek, and in the film Dealin' with Idiots. Her debut Netflix comedy special, Baby Cobra, was released in 2016 and was filmed when she was seven months pregnant with her first child. Her second, and most recent, Netflix comedy special, Hard Knock Wife, was filmed when she was seven months pregnant with her second child and was released in 2018. Wong has been a writer on the comedy television series Fresh Off the Boat since 2014.
