Forming by chance in a piano shop in St. George, Utah, when Jon Schmidt came in and asked shop owner, Paul Anderson, if he could practice there in preparation for an upcoming show. Just a few months later, the two of them began making music videos together. Shortly joined by fellow musicians Steven Sharp Nelson and Al van der Beek, who took the role of technician, the group starting uploading one video per month to YouTube. Gaining immense popularity for their inventive classical covers of contemporary pop songs and beautifully shot and located music videos, their videos amassed over 750,000 view. With their “Michael Meets Mozart” video, they won the “Most Up-and-Coming Channel” award YouTube “On the Rise” competition.

The group were signed by Sony in 2012, and released their first album, “The Piano Guys,” to immense popularity and critical acclaim. Since then, they have gone on to release one top charting album after another!!
